Put ‘Brand definition’ into Google and you get ‘About 4,750,000,000 results 0.69 seconds’. That’s a lot of definitions.
And although I didn’t slip and bump my head while standing on a toilet to hang a clock I did have my flux capacitor moment this weekend. It’s not quite time travel but it is a definition which I’m finally happy to share.
What is a brand?
A brand is the sum collection of thoughts and feelings we have when we experience a particular product, service, place, person etc (the sense we have of something without an experience of it is reputation).
So what is branding?
Branding is simply the things that we do in order to positively influence those thoughts and feelings (and yes branding can be applied to positively manage reputation).
