Working with CUH Arts – Cambridge University Hospitals’ arts-in-health programme and Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Sable&Hawkes and writer Hannah Jane Walker researched the flora, history and folklore of a typical English cottage garden to record them in digital illustration and poetry for the interior environment design of this new ward at CUH NHS Trust.
Our in-house illustrators created a series of contemporary botanical designs that took inspiration from traditional botanical illustrations. They were then designed as garden environments for the wards public and staff spaces and as individual A0 posters for patient rooms. We then managed the production of all the graphics and supervised the on site install.
From staff and patient engagement through creative workshops and focus groups to creative concepts, design and art direction, graphic print and production and on-site install management; Sable&Hawkes have all the skills in-house and have over 20yrs experience designing and project managing all aspects of NHS hospital environment projects.
